The popular online shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the free-to-play battle royale Warzone 2.0 continue to lose their base player base. It is not possible to trace the activity of players on consoles, however, data from the PC shows that the number of users is naturally decreasing. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PC now has even fewer players than Call of Duty: Black Ops, which came out in 2010.
According to the latest data from the SteamDB analytics platform, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 shooter, along with Warzone on PC, is gaining about 84 thousand daily active players. At the same time, the record for the shooter was set at around 500,000 users. For 8 months, the project has lost most of the audience, and now it is surpassed by Call of Duty: Black Ops in terms of the number of online.

More than 120,000 users regularly play Call of Duty: Black Ops on Xbox 360 servers alone. Such an incredible popularity of the old shooter is due to the recent update, which fixed the matchmaking. The developers have also improved network connectivity in other older parts of Call of Duty. So, in Black Ops II, there are 11,514 players, and in Modern Warfare 3 – 79,619 players.
