Behavior Interactive has announced the creation of a new studio in the south of the UK

Canadian developer Behavior Interactive has experienced huge success since the release of Dead by Daylight in 2016, allowing it to open multiple offices across Canada and the UK. Now BHVR has announced the opening of another UK office in Truro, Cornwall, made up of former employees of local developer AntiMatter Games.

In a press release sent out today, BHVR EVP Wayne Meazza stated that the developer saw an opportunity to acquire a new team: “When we learned of AntiMatter Games’ closure, we immediately jumped at the opportunity to accelerate our strategic expansion through joining this studio’s proven and experienced team. It was truly a win-win situation…”.

Since April 2022, Behavior Interactive has been on an expansion tour with offices in Toronto, Seattle and now the UK. The opening of the UK South office follows the February 2023 acquisition of SockMonkey Studios in Middlesbrough, Teesside, UK, which is now UK North.

Acquiring multiple offices in such a short amount of time may raise concerns among some about BHVR’s ability to retain staff without overstretching. Rich Barham, former CEO of AntiMatter Games, who will now serve as general manager of the new office, said: “We are very lucky to be able to keep our home in beautiful Truro and we look forward to welcoming new team members in the coming months and years.”

In addition to the hit game Dead by Daylight, recently released on BHVR with a live service, the developer company seems to have a lot of developments to its credit that could keep several teams busy for a long time.
