Atlus Japan today launched its annual fan poll to find out what fans think about topics including Persona 5: The Phantom X and upcoming mainline titles.
The Japanese-only survey is a bit shorter than previous years (it used to be huge), but still contains some interesting questions.
One of them, which will certainly interest many, is whether fans would play Persona 5: The Phantom X if it was released in Japan. At the moment, the game for iOS and Android has only been officially announced for the Chinese market, but it seems that Atlus is at least interested in releasing the game outside of its original target market.
Another interesting question that recurs year after year is which platforms fans will choose to play the next numbered games in the Persona, Shin Megami Tensei and Etrian Odyssey series on.
This year’s options include: PS4/PS4 Pro, PlayStation VR, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch OLED, Smartphone (Free Play), Smartphone (Purchase), Xbox, Steam and more. This question is very similar to last year’s, with the only difference being that the Switch is split into two options.
As usual in polls like this, it shouldn’t be treated as a set of announcements, but it’s interesting to see what Atlus wants to know from its fans, perhaps it will give a glimpse into the beloved developer’s plans for the future.
By the way, at the moment a similar survey for Western fans has not been conducted. Last year, surveys for Japan and the West were available at the same time.
