Antonio Banderas is one of the many popular actors who will appear in Indiana Jones 5. During an interview about the new “Puss in Boots”, the actor hinted that his role in the new adventures of the famous archaeologist will not be big. Nevertheless, Antonio Banderas considered it an honor to have the opportunity to take part in the filming of a film from the cult series:
My role is small, almost episodic. He’s just a friend of Indiana and he’s looking for him because he needs something from his friend. It takes up very little screen time, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of a saga that has gone down in film history.
For the actor, the very fact of stepping on the set was a great honor. Antonio Banderas also praised Harrison Ford and called him a true gentleman in every situation:
And I have to tell you that I had a great time with Harrison. He is a gentleman both on and off the set. We had dinner together several times, and really, what a gentleman.
However, there is hope that Antonio Banderas will still take part in the Indiana Jones universe. In early November, it became known that Disney had given the green light to the series, which will take place in the same world as the adventures of the archaeologist. Perhaps in this production, Banderas would have received much more screen time? Fans would certainly be happy about it.
In addition to Antonio Banderas, Indiana Jones 5 also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones and John Rhys-Davies. The film is scheduled for release in summer 2023.
