Ant-Man 3 will take a sharp turn and be more epic

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania, according to director Peyton Reed, will be different from the previous two films in the trilogy. The film will be longer and bolder than previous ones – so there will be some surprises.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Reed said:

We were very excited about the opportunity to make a third Ant-Man film and make a trilogy. And we knew that if we were going to do this, we wanted to do some things differently. We really wanted to take a big turn and make a film that was more epic, but also developed a story of family dynamics and everything that goes on between Scott, Hope and Cassie.

In the film, the heroes will face Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, a very dangerous opponent. Reed added:

We also knew that we wanted to put our heroes against a very, very formidable opponent. I grew up reading comics and I know the character Kang the Conqueror, who is one of the big, just great bad characters in comics, so the opportunity to pit our heroes against Kang was a huge deal for us. We have taken a big and small step at the same time.

A trailer for the film was shown at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 but is not yet available to the public. In it, the heroes enter the Quantum Realm, where the sinister Kang warns them that they are in deep trouble.
