Developers from the Polish studio The Dust have found a publisher for their upcoming project I, the Inquisitor, which is based on the novel “I, the Inquisitor” by Polish science fiction writer Jacek Piekary. At the same time, the approximate release date of the game became known.
The publisher will be Kalypso Media Group GmbH, a German company that has released, among others, Disciples: Liberation or Tropico 6. In total, Polish authors can count on financial support in the amount of 2.425 million euros, of which:
- 1.55 million euros will be invested in production – this amount will be paid in tranches after reaching the established development milestones of the game;
- 600 thousand euros for marketing activities;
- 275 thousand euros for localization into different, yet unspecified languages.
Kalypso Media reserved a portion of the proceeds from the game I, Inquisitor – but only after recovering production and marketing costs. Moreover, the contract stipulates that the German company will have priority in releasing a possible sequel to this game, although The Dust studio will remain the owner of the intellectual property rights.
At the same time, we learned the approximate release date of the game I, the Inquisitor. The igroization of the novel is expected to release in the second half of 2023 on PC, PS5 and XSX/S.
