Druid Khalsin voice actor in Baldur’s Gate III, told on his Twitter that his character was promoted to companion status thanks to the players.
Dave Jones said the following:
If not for the fans who warmly received it, and not for Larian, who reads All, that bear would remain an NPC. I am the voice of Khalsin and I am eternally grateful to you.
Initially, Larian was conceived as a simple NPC, but the reaction of the community led to a revision of the plans. The actor stressed that the developers really read everything that users write and, apparently, does not leave their desires unnoticed.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive open world RPG from the creators of the Divinity: Original Sin series. Larian has announced that they are moving the PC version’s release date forward by a month from August 31 to August 3 to avoid clashing with Bethesda’s Starfield launching in early September. The PlayStation 5 version, meanwhile, has been slightly delayed until September 6, while the Xbox Series X and S versions remain without a release date (more on Baldur’s Gate 3’s Xbox delay here).
In an interview, Vincke said that the developers believe that a typical Baldur’s Gate 3 playthrough takes between 75 and 100 hours. However, players who want to “do it all” should look forward to doubling that number.
