    8 Yakuza games coming to PlayStation Plus in 2022 starting in August



    The acclaimed Yakuza series, which includes the Kazuma Kiryu saga and the latest installment of Yakuza: Like A Dragon, will arrive on PlayStation Plus in 2022. Anyone who’s been intrigued by Sega’s long-running series will be able to enjoy its signature mix of brutal combat, explorable areas, mini-games and compelling storylines as early as next month.

    Yakuza: Like a Dragon joins the monthly PlayStation Plus lineup in August. PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members will be able to begin Kazuma Kiryu’s epic underworld journey with Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 when these titles arrive in the August game catalog lineup.

    Then later this year, for Extra and Premium members, Kiryu’s story will end in Yakuza 3 Remastered, Yakuza 4 Remastered, Yakuza 5 Remastered, and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.

    Yakuza: Like A Dragon | August | PlayStation Plus Essential / Extra / Premium

    Yakuza 0 | August | PlayStation Plus Extra / Premium

    The glitz, glamor and rampant decadence of the 80s return in Yakuza 0. Team up with protagonist Kazuma Kiryu and series regular Goro Majima as you battle through Tokyo and Osaka. Playing as the former, you will learn how he ended up in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection went wrong. Then, as you stand on Goro Majima’s feet, learn about his “normal” life as a cabaret club owner.

    Yakuza Kiwami | August | PlayStation Plus Extra / Premium

    The first Yakuza game was released in 2005 on PS2. The PS4 remake rebuilds that experience from the ground up. Follow Kazuma Kiryu’s early days as he returns to the streets of Japan after a decade in prison for a crime he didn’t commit in order to save his best friend.

    Yakuza Kiwami 2 | August | PlayStation Plus Extra / Premium

    The Yakuza sequel is getting a remake, not only updating the original but also expanding it with a playable adventure starring Goro Majima that takes place before the events of the main game. A year after the events of the first Yakuza, a murder breaks Kazuma Kiryu out of civilian life to bring peace between rival clans and fight Ryuji Godoy, known as Kansai’s Dragon.

    Yakuza 3 Remastered | PlayStation Plus Premium

    Kazuma Kiryu deserved his retirement. However, he breaks out of his new life as an orphanage teacher when a shadow from his past threatens to confuse his new life with that of his old clan and the political world. Travel through the sleepless city of Kamurocho, Tokyo and the tropical lands of Okinawa to help save your new charges.

    Yakuza 4 Remastered | PlayStation Plus Premium

    Yakuza’s story expands: for the first time in the series, you’ll control multiple main characters. Four souls, a loan shark on death row, a corrupt police officer, and legendary former yakuza Kazuma Kiryu team up to solve a murder. Unravel the hidden struggle for money, power, status and honor, and the mysterious woman at the center of it all.

    Yakuza 5 Remastered | PlayStation Plus Premium

    Multiple perspectives once again form a branching story as the peace between the Tojo clan and the Omi alliance falls apart. Play as five different characters, including Kazuma Kiryu, across five major cities whose stories intertwine as yakuza organizations go to war.

    Yakuza 6: The Song of Life | PlayStation Plus Extra / Premium

    In the conclusion of Kazuma Kiryu’s epic story, the Dragon of Dojima takes on the responsibility of a foster father in an attempt to protect his young ward Haruto and uncover the secret behind the greedy attack on Haruto’s mother. Explore Onomichi, Hiroshima, and with the help of unlikely friends, plunge into a ruthless underworld, outsmart the clans looking for Haruto, and find the answers to your questions.
